In my book, I promote urban gardens as a way to conserve the environment, save money and grow natural, organic foods. That can work great if you have the yard space. One reader asked what can be done if he doesn't have a yard at all. He lives in a condominium. I have been wondering about that myself. Suddenly, while browsing the web just a few minutes ago, I came across a site that merits attention. I am attaching the link so that you can see what is being done with "vertical gardens." I think I will include this in the next edition of the book. In the meantime, you can access it now. Enjoy. And please let me know if this has been helpful for you.

Since my first blog, so much has happened, and I thought that I should update you on what's happening. The Expanded Edition of Practical Home Planning is getting closer to completion and should be ready in a short time. It will have many color photos, black and white photos, drawings and diagrams as well as updated information. The format will also be larger than the Condensed Edition and will have a Glossary of Terms that does not appear in the Condensed Edition.
If you have received a copy of the Condensed Edition and would like a copy of the Expanded Edition, you may purchase one from this site with a 20% discount simply by following the instructions on the Bookstore Page. As the other books are published, you will be able to apply the 20% discount on any of those books as well, but you can only do that by purchasing the books on this site. There will be more updates in the days, weeks and months to come, including a schedule of book signings around the country. |
From SteveI started writing this series of books in response to clients' requests for more information on the design, permitting and building processes. First came some promotional literature, then the sheets became organized into a customized folder for each prospective client. Eventually, the condensed edition was published. Now, the expanded edition has been published. Eventually, all five books will be available for purchase in book stores, Amazon.com and here.
